2. «YOU BECOME WHAT YOU EAT» GOES THE SAYING... ARE WE BECOMING GENETICALLY MODIFIED ?

The project

Students study a current scientific theme. They act as reporters and consult different people. They present the results to the class and discuss the different opinions to form an own view of the topic.

Working methods

All the work is done through students. The teacher has the role of a co-ordinator, animator and adviser.
Participants: classes in different countries, students working in groups.

Biology

Students use a collection of internet addresses and libraries to get informed and to retrieve information they can use for their work.

Databases

Students learn to judge information you find on the internet.
Students practise searching strategies.

Presentations

Students learn to present the findings in a scientific way (quotations, references).

Languages

Students practice writing for newspapers.
They exchanged emails in foreign languages.
